Judith Mackenzie recommends a lotion called Cowboy Magic for your hands when you spin silk. It's available at Feed Supply stores or any Western themed store (ours is at a dance supply store) and apparently its used for horse manes and tail. It's amazing stuff. Your hands feel like silk.
