It's the last Monday of the month, so it's time to check in on my One Little Word. Thank you to Kat for hosting our monthly link-ups!
I didn't have to think too hard about how Less has made itself known in my life this past month because frankly there's been less of just about everything: Less sleep. Less exercise. Less knitting. Less reading. Less time to myself in general. Those of you who have had a puppy (or a new baby!) know how it goes. But it's just a season of life and will pass. And as Ruthie has gotten settled in and used to a schedule, there's been less/fewer of some of the not-so-pleasant aspects of this period in time, like accidents in the house and wake-ups in the middle of the night. I'm looking forward to the trends continuing in that direction.
There's also been less baking and roasting thanks to the ovens dying -- but that's almost over, as our new ovens are scheduled to be installed today!
Oh joy for new ovens!! (C&M were supposed to go stove shopping on Saturday...I hope they found what they want.). Good to read that Ruthie is getting into more of a routine and hopefully you can get back to knitting, reading, exercising and sleeping well!
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother used to tell me that time with a new baby was warped; days felt like weeks, but weeks and months flew by. I suspect the same is true with a puppy, but I think you're both adjusting well. Less now will later get back to more, and that includes more enjoyment of Ruthie as a member of your family.
ReplyDeleteYay for new ovens! I am really missing my sourdough bakes right now because we still haven’t figured out what’s going on with our oven. I’m glad you’ll be getting back to some normalcy.
ReplyDeleteAnd so glad to hear that Ruthie is getting into the swing of things. I bet next month you’ll be able to say that you’re getting more sleep, more exercise, more reading, and more knitting time! ❤️
Less of everything BUT more puppy! A fair trade off (I say, being months out from Coleslaw's puppyhood and enjoying the fruits of my labor).
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'd survive puppyhood! Yay for new ovens!!
ReplyDeleteI'm willing to bet these are NOT the concepts of less you visualized when you chose this word. The good news is that Ruthie will bring you more love than you can handle!
ReplyDeleteI’m so happy to hear there’s less challenge and more settle with Ruthie. And hooray for your ovens! My double oven is what I miss most from my old kitchen (the ovens, and the sunshine!).
ReplyDeleteHere’s to more baby steps every day.
You have had a lot of LESS ... for the good and the maybe not so good? I hope May brings more of the things you love, and continues LESS of the things you don't. Glad those ovens are getting installed. MORE baking!
ReplyDeleteLess showed up in a big way for you, perhaps more than you wanted. I imagine you will be quite pleased to have the ovens installed and up and running. Hopefully by then it isn't too warm to use them.
ReplyDeleteThe year we adopted JoJo, my word was "surprise." And she gave me plenty of that! Sometimes it's good to have a real-life "reminder" of our words-in-action! XO
ReplyDeletePuppies have a way of reminding us of what is most important. I bet May will be a different story.
ReplyDeleteI think the less this month was filled with so many more good things. I think that Ruthie is delighting in being your "more" this month! And yay for new appliances! (and thank you so much for being a faithful word devotee!)
ReplyDeleteI certainly hope you have less of these things in May.
